PART 1: MENTAL HEALTH SENSITIVITY
Mental Health Sensitivity Training with Aaron Moore, Janey Brown, Elaine Clark, and, Elizabeth Vecchio
This 20 Hour Workshop is part 1 of the Blu Matter Project Mental Health and Trauma Sensitivity Training Certificate. It will be hosted online through zoom.

• Understanding common mental health issues such as Anxiety and Depression
• Breaking down stigma, shame, fear and guilt
• Learning the multi prong approach of treatment including yoga
• Nutrition and mental health
• Domains of a trauma informed yoga class
• Suicide prevention
WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
Mental Health Awareness and Understanding
Attendees will be able to understand the nature of the stigma and shame that often accompanies mental health issues, and how it is one of the main barriers to treatment and recovery.
We will define and identify the common mental health issues of addiction, depressive disorders and anxiety disorders, their symptoms, experience, and options for treatment and recovery.
Attendees will learn common factors regarding suicide as part of a suicide prevention workshop, which will give a practical framework for preventing suicide in their community.
Attendees will gain an understanding for how these and other common mental health issues present in the context of yoga practice, specific areas of concern for yoga teachers, and how yoga can be a valuable asset in recovery.
ART 2: TRAUMA SENSITIVE YOGA
Trauma Sensitive Yoga Training with David Emerson
This 20 hour workshop is part 2 of the Blu Matter Project Mental Health and Trauma Sensitivity Training Certificate. This training is being held online through zoom.
